Power of Technology to Elevate Education
I was born in Pakistan and raised for the first decade of my life in my native homeland. I
migrated to Montreal, Canada at age 11 and completed my undergraduate studies earning a BComm
with a major in finance and a minor in economics and women’s studies. I obtained an Islamic
teacher education program certificate from an affiliate of the University of Toronto and also
pursued a language enrichment program in Arabic and Islamic studies. I earned a graduate
certificate in nonprofit management from the Harvard Extension School in 2020. I am currently
pursuing my Masters in Education Technology at the University of Florida and plan to graduate in
2026.
I love to hike, bike, camp, and enjoy the outdoors with my family. I’m fluent in English, Urdu,
Punjabi and can communicate in French as well. I moved to the USA in 2007 after marrying my
husband Rehan Mirza and have been a part of South Florida community ever since. My ethnic,
racial, religious, and socio-economic background has shaped my pluralistic outlook on life and
the world.
